Dr. Joan Massague is an Investigator of Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Alfred P. Sloan Chair professor and the Chairman of Cancer Biology and Genetics Program, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York.He is an elected member of National Academy of Sciences, USA; AmericanAcademy of Arts and Sciences;Institute of Medicine, USA; European Molecular Biology Organization;AmericanAcademy of Microbiology; Royal National Academy of Medicine Spain; and Royal National Academy of Pharmacy, Spain.
He has published over 200 research articles with more than 40 in Nature, Science and Cell. He is interested in how growth factors, signaling pathways, and gene expression programs control normal cell proliferation and cancer cell metastasis.
